This past weekend marked the beginning of an exhilarating new season for our race team as we dove headfirst into the action-packed world of Extreme Supercars. With anticipation and excitement running high, we eagerly prepared our car and our team for the challenges that lay ahead.

Leading up to the race weekend, we faced our fair share of obstacles. Our car and its engine were meticulously taken apart for necessary upgrades and maintenance, requiring us to work against the clock to ensure everything was reassembled and ready for the track. Despite the time constraints, we managed to squeeze in a brief test session at Zwartkops Raceway, allowing us to shake down the car and make any final adjustments.

As the race weekend unfolded, we encountered unforeseen challenges during practice sessions, including issues with fuel pumps, gearbox, and other mechanical components. However, thanks to the camaraderie and sportsmanship within the racing community, fellow teams came to our aid with spare parts and invaluable assistance, enabling us to swiftly address and resolve these issues.

Despite the rocky start, our team remained resilient and determined to overcome every obstacle in our path. With a blend of resourcefulness, teamwork, and sheer determination, we not only managed to compete but also completed both races of the weekend.

While the results may not have been what we had hoped for, we view this weekend as a valuable learning experience and a testament to our team’s perseverance. With new team members joining our ranks and others bidding farewell, there were adjustments to be made and lessons to be learned. We are incredibly proud of the performance displayed by our new team members, who rose to the occasion and showcased their potential during their debut event with us.

In Race 1, Marius Jackson demonstrated skill and tenacity as he navigated through the field, starting 11th on the grid and finishing 10th overall, securing 5th place in his class. Race 2 presented its own set of challenges, yet Marius once again showcased his talent, starting 12th on the grid and crossing the finish line in 11th place overall, maintaining his position as 5th in his class.

As we reflect on the weekend’s events, we acknowledge that there is always room for improvement. We remain steadfast in our commitment to refining our car’s performance and maximizing our potential on the track. With each challenge we face, we grow stronger and more resilient, and we are confident that as we continue to fine-tune our car and harness the full capabilities of our team, the remainder of the season will only yield greater success.

As we look ahead to the next race weekend with optimism and determination, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, sponsors (Car-Hi-Fi Specialists; Engineering Cylinder Head Specialists; YJVR Attorneys Inc.; Back on Track; Daytona), and fellow competitors for their unwavering support and camaraderie. Together, we will conquer every hurdle and chase our dreams of victory in the Extreme Supercars season.

Stay tuned as we continue to push the limits and write the next chapter in our racing journey.

Until then, let the engines roar and the competition thrive!
