SAES 6 HOURS OF KILLARNEY
1 AUGUST 2026
We welcomed the new look for the MJR Porsche 991.2 GT3R. It had a good first outing in Cape Town, a few bumps and bruises later but a P4 overall in the 1 Hour Dash. It’s now back to the workshop for some TLC then on to the next race.
Another successful weekend for Ian Howell and the MJR Motorsport customer program. P3 in Class A of the GT Cup Series and P11 overall in the 1 Hour Dash.
It wasn’t without its challenges. A number of incidents throughout the weekend kept the mechanics busy and unfortunately impacted our final results. But that’s racing—you take the good with the bad, learn from it, and come back stronger.

6 hours. 3 drivers. 1 team. 24H Series — 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi,
What an experience.
Our first international race and what a track to do it at. Driving with HRT Performance and their Porsche 992 GT3 Cup.
It was a busy 2 days at the Yas Marina Circuit. A lot of setup changes in practice to get the car feeling good. During qualifying, setting faster and faster times for each lap, unfortunately another competitor spun out with 5 minutes of the session remaining, resulting in a red flag ending the session. Placing us quite low on the grid.
A very relaxed and clean race day, putting in the seat time over the long 6 hours racing into the dark under the Abu Dhabi lights. At the end of it all we came out at the end with P30 overall out of 60 cars! And P11 in the AM class. Not a fantastic result, but for the first international race for MJR Motorsport, we count that as a reason for celebration!

It was a fierce battle of the heat at this round of SAES. The temps in Pretoria were extreme all weekend, and of course the AC in the GT3R chose the perfect time to stop working. The drivers and pit crew worked incredibly hard through the heat and brought home a P3 overall.

SAES 5 Hours Of Aldo Scribante.
We had a few technical problems with the car over the weekend giving us P4 overall. Not the result we would have liked but we are learning the tricks of the car more and more each race.
A winning start to our customer program
Our first customer race weekend in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup ends with a class victory in the GT Cup A class. Put a driver in the right car and results follow. Amazing work from the team on the setup and management of the car. A small incident in the last race of the day caused a bit of mechanical damage for us but that’s racing! Parts can be replaced.
A big congrats to Ian Howell on a great racing debut

ACI Italian GT Endurance Championship monza

Monza, one of the most iconic racetracks in the world. That is a big tick off the bucket list. An amazing experience with an amazing team and super fast and supportive co-drivers. It wasn’t a super long race, but it was still absolutely worth it! Putting the South African Motorsport’s name out there along with quite a few fellow South African drivers and teams on the grid. We will definitely be back for more! Next time we will pick a date that isn’t in the middle of a heat wave.
With days rising into the high thirty degrees Celsius, it was a huge challenge for us South Africans coming from winter time, but we made it work. It wasn’t just the people struggling with the heat. The cars too were struggling; with just 30 minutes left of the 3 hour race, the team decided to retire the car for overheating issues. A big shame, as we would have gotten a P1 in our class, but even with a DNF, it was still an amazing experience
